Living in your Home while it is being Reroofed
Not sure if you can stay in your home while it’s being reroofed? Let CMAC Roofing tell you what you should expect!
When your home’s roof is being replaced, you have the option to stay in your home or go somewhere else for the duration of the project. It’s really up to you and what will make you most comfortable. If you decide to stay in your home, there are a few things you should know.
First, roofing projects can be loud. There will be a lot of movement and banging as the old roof is removed and the new one is installed. If you have young children or pets, they may find the noise unsettling. You may want to consider making arrangements for them to stay with a friend or family member during the project.
Second, there will be dust and debris generated during the project. Although we do our best to contain it, some may still get into your home. This is particularly true if your home has an attic space. If you are concerned about dust and debris, we recommend that you vacate your home during the project.
Third, we will need access to your home’s electricity to power our tools and equipment. This means that some areas of your home may be without power for short periods of time. Again, if this is a concern for you, we recommend that you vacate your home during the project.
Fourth, because we will be working on your roof, there will be people coming and going from your property throughout the day. If you have young children or pets, this may not be ideal. If security is a concern for you, we recommend that you vacate your home during the project.
Ultimately, it’s up to you whether or not you stay in your home while we replace your roof. We just want you to be aware of all the potential inconveniences so that you can make the best decision for yourself and your family.
